The Youngmens Model Education Society, Sangli is a leading Educational Institute based in Sangli in Western Maharashtra. Located on the banks of the Krishna river in the Sangli city Ganpatrao Arwade High School, was established in the pre independence era by Late Dattopant Apte and his enterprising friends, on 12th August 1939 by combining two schools together, the Pratap School and the Model School to impart education to the poor and downtrodden.
Initially the school was started in the Panjarpol or a Cattle pound. Later a dilapidated wada was bought and a new school building was constructed in the same premises with financial support from the Late Ganpatrao Arwade, who was a leading industrialist of that time. The school was then named after him and came to be recognised as Ganpatrao Arwade High School, Sangli.
Later on in 1962 the Technical wing was started to impart technical education to students of the Secondary section to hone their technical skills so as to make them employable.
